As letter carriers, we work hard every day to serve our communities, but there’s another way we can protect the future of our jobs, benefits, and the Postal Service as a whole—by supporting the Letter Carrier Political Fund (LCPF). While we’re out delivering the mail, the LCPF is working behind the scenes to ensure that the laws and policies that affect us are fair and just.
There is legislation that is in congress today that can affect you and your benefits that you work hard for every day. Listed below are some of those bills:
1. H.R. 7629 Protect Our Letter Carrier Act.
2. H.R. 82 Social Security Act.
3. H.R. 5995 Federal Retirement Fairness Act.
4. H.R. 618 Improving Access to Workers’ Compensation for Injured Federal Workers Act.
5. H.R. 866 Equal COLA Act.
I encourage you to look these up and see how they can affect you. By having friends in congress, they help advance these and other legislation that protect our interests.
The LCPF is the political action committee (PAC) of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC). It exists to support pro-letter carrier legislation and candidates who understand the value of the Postal Service and fight to protect our interests. Whether it’s defending six-day delivery, ensuring retirement security, or opposing harmful privatization efforts, the LCPF helps us stay strong in Washington, D.C.
